Rolls-Royce Phantom Carbon Veil unveiled with extensive use of carbon fibre

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is the ultimate luxury saloon, renowned worldwide for its pursuit of luxury. Recently a bespoke product called Carbon Veil was unveiled in Dubai, and to live up to its name, it makes extensive use of carbon fibre, with the luxurious interior using no less than 150 layers of carbon fibre even for the dashboard alone.图片关键词In the world of Rolls-Royce, Carbon Veil stands for "a truly exceptional piece of bespoke art". The extremely elegant luxobarge has a predominantly bronze appearance and contrasting lines, which make a great visual impact. In addition, it has a striking orange hue, with Rolls-Royce's signature self-levelling wheel cover profile in a vibrant orange hue.

Called Carbon Veil, the piece was designed by Rolls-Royce's Goodwood-based Bespoke Collective team and created by renowned carbon fibre artist Alastair Gibson, who gained his expertise in carbon fibre construction from Formula 1 racing.

Typically, four to five layers of lightweight carbon fibre material are used in cars. In the case of the Phantom Carbon Veil car, however, at least 150 layers of resin-impregnated carbon fibre sheets have been compressed to form a strong billet that forms a perfect horizontal and parallel weave pattern throughout the structure, with assembly to be completed in 2020.

Carbon Veil has an incredibly unique feature: the gallery. Through a glass window in the dashboard, Rolls-Royce Phantom owners can display a work of art or design for the use of anyone in the car. It is a bespoke carbon fibre sculpture that adds a bold, modern touch to the Phantom.

The rest of the car is designed around the incredible Carbon Veil Gallery, with a bronze exterior, light leather interior with bright orange trim and the special carbon fibre Spirit of Ecstasy.

According to Rolls-Royce, the Carbon Veil Gallery's angular, stealthy shape was inspired by the 118 WallyPower - a luxury motor yacht with a top speed of 70 mph (110 km/h).
