Recently, the first carbon fiber cable-stayed highway bridge in China, built by CCB8 under China Construction Group, was opened to traffic in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province.


Shandong Province Liaocheng City Xinghua Road Bridge across the Tuixi River is located in the central city of Liaocheng City Xinghua Road across the Tuixi River, planning and design with the theme of "Lotus Lake Qing Yun". The whole bridge is divided into the east approach bridge, the main bridge and the west approach bridge, with two-way 6 lanes design, is the "Jiangbei Water City" Liaocheng key livelihood projects.


The biggest highlight of the bridge is the application of carbon fiber material in the cable-stayed cable. Carbon fiber and its composite materials are widely used in national defense, aerospace, automobile manufacturing and other fields, and have a very high national strategic status. The bridge uses four carbon fiber cables, which are composed of carbon fiber, resin matrix and fiber/resin interface, and are lightweight and strong enough to reduce the weight of the structure and have excellent durability and fatigue resistance.


In addition, the bridge also uses super tough concrete technology, which can be well combined with the surface of steel girders to reduce rigid impact and prolong the use of the bridge. The tensile strength of super tough concrete is 10 times that of traditional concrete, and its fracture toughness is 200 times that of traditional concrete. The risk of fatigue cracking of the steel deck was greatly reduced.


In the location of the underpass, the project team applied corrugated steel structure instead of the traditional concrete structure, which is the first time used in the domestic urban underpass. The corrugated steel structure can be manufactured and assembled on site, which improves the construction efficiency and reduces the impact on the environment and traffic, and the durability is greatly improved.


After the bridge is opened to traffic, it will effectively relieve the traffic pressure of Dongchang Road and Guangyue Road in Liaocheng City, improve the urban transportation network system, enhance the travel efficiency of the masses, optimize the spatial layout of the city, further open the channel between the main urban area and the development zone, which is of great significance to promote the high-quality economic and social development of Liaocheng City. The "lotus" and steel box girder bridge deck blend with each other, the bridge scenery and architectural art, the bridge at night like a blooming lotus, become a beautiful scenery of Liaocheng.
